Your clinician at Wavecrest is me, Emily Bura. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I invite you to check out my blog post about LPCs to familiarize yourself with what that means. I'm also a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor which basically means I have specific knowledge working with folks and families that have difficulties with substance abuse. And I'm a Certified Pre-admission Screening Clinician, so I have some special training and experience surrounding acute and emergency psychiatric needs. I'm originally from Northern Virginia but have been in Hampton Roads for awhile now as I completed both my BS Psychology, and my MSEd Mental Health Counseling at Old Dominion University, Go Monarchs!!

Our name is more than just a nod to where we are located, just a few blocks away from the Atlantic Ocean. The name Wavecrest was also selected in recognition of the fluidity of life and its circumstances. Waves have lows, called troughs and highs, called crests. Life too will always have its highs and lows and at Wavecrest the aim is to support clients to their highest high, the crest of their lives. I'd love to meet you and accompany you on the way to your crest!
