Your clinician at Wavecrest is me, Emily Bura, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I'm a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor which, put simply, means that I have background working with people with substance abuse disorders. Additionally I'm a CPSC, certifying my focused experience surrounding acute and emergent psychiatric needs. Originally from Northern Virginia, with an international stint, I'm now a resident of Hampton Roads. Both my undergrad and my MSEd Mental Health Counseling were completed at Old Dominion University. Go Monarchs!!

Our name is more than just a nod to where we are located, just a few blocks away from the Atlantic Ocean- you can find the office in the oceanfront area of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The name Wavecrest was also selected in recognition of the fluidity of life and its circumstances.
Waves have lows, called "troughs"
and
highs, called "crests."
We acknowledge that life will always have its highs and lows. Therefore, the goal of Wavecrest is to support our clients to their highest high:
the crest of their lives.
